MV Giamani has Great High Season Weekend Liveaboard Trips to Koh Haa & Hin Daeng

MV Giamani has the smallest guest list of any Thailand Liveaboard. Not a small boat by any means but with only 10 guests onboard you can expect a first class and personal service. In between the Similan Island and Myanmar safari’s MV Giamani runs a short weekend trip to the Southern Andaman sites of Koh Haa, Hin Daeng & Hin Muang.

Fantastic Dive Sites That Fly Under The Radar

When you think of a Thailand liveaboard safari, the immediate thought is the Similan Islands and it’s big animals. The southern dive sites of Hin Daeng and Hin Muang are just as spectacular and you have the same chance if not more of encountering a manta ray or whale shark.

Koh Ha is a group of five islands that surround a small turquoise lagoon. There are caves to explore and stunning soft coral fields at depth. Whale sharks are frequent visitors and it’s also great for macro.

During the high season you can combine the Similan Island trip with the Koh Haa cruise to make a fantastic 6 Day/6 Night cruise that covers all of the best dive sites in Thailand. You’ll see the best scuba diving Phuket has to offer.

The saloon is air-conditioned and fitted with plenty of media devices to view your photos or video as well as an extensive library of marine life I.D books. Cabins are well laid out and feature en-suite bathrooms, individual air-conditioning units, minibar, fans and reading lights. The Master cabin is located on the upper deck and the remaining four Deluxe cabins on the main deck.

The user friendly dive deck is very comfortable with a camera table and rinse tanks making this a great boat for photographers. Food is plentiful and a great mix of Thai and international dishes are served buffet style on the shaded main deck.

Weefine Ringlight 3000 Review & Samples

The original Weefine Ringlight was a simple affair, more of a good idea rather than a good product but the upgrades on the latest version have made it a very useful tool indeed. Brightness has been beefed up and strobe, red light and UV light features all make it a great addition to the macro photographers armoury. Along with the ring light itself you'll find a couple of spare o rings a battery charger and a rechargeable 26650 battery. [...]

Phi Phi Islands National Park Fee And New Diving Rules

From 2015 the Phi Phi Islands National Park jumped fee to THB 400 for all tourists and an extra THB 200 for divers. For 2022 this has been reduced to a THB 200 entry fee and THB 200 for divers. At first fees were collected sporadically but now park officials have set up a floating pontoon where all boats have to report. They also have a speedboat so they can board boats who "forget" to report. We're not sure if this is a permanent reductio [...]

Where To Stay In Phuket

Choosing a beach resort for your stay in Phuket has got more and more difficult over the last few years. Great restaurants, bars and hotels have started springing up all over the island. Taking away the necessity to stay in the traditional party town of Patong. As Patong gets more crowded and remains fairly one dimensional, tourists have begun to look at alternatives. Still the busiest place in Phuket and the number one choice for the [...]
