MV Giamani has Great High Season Weekend Liveaboard Trips to Koh Haa & Hin Daeng

MV Giamani has the smallest guest list of any Thailand Liveaboard. Not a small boat by any means but with only 10 guests onboard you can expect a first class and personal service. In between the Similan Island and Myanmar safari’s MV Giamani runs a short weekend trip to the Southern Andaman sites of Koh Haa, Hin Daeng & Hin Muang.

Fantastic Dive Sites That Fly Under The Radar

When you think of a Thailand liveaboard safari, the immediate thought is the Similan Islands and it’s big animals. The southern dive sites of Hin Daeng and Hin Muang are just as spectacular and you have the same chance if not more of encountering a manta ray or whale shark.

Koh Ha is a group of five islands that surround a small turquoise lagoon. There are caves to explore and stunning soft coral fields at depth. Whale sharks are frequent visitors and it’s also great for macro.

During the high season you can combine the Similan Island trip with the Koh Haa cruise to make a fantastic 6 Day/6 Night cruise that covers all of the best dive sites in Thailand. You’ll see the best scuba diving Phuket has to offer.

The saloon is air-conditioned and fitted with plenty of media devices to view your photos or video as well as an extensive library of marine life I.D books. Cabins are well laid out and feature en-suite bathrooms, individual air-conditioning units, minibar, fans and reading lights. The Master cabin is located on the upper deck and the remaining four Deluxe cabins on the main deck.

The user friendly dive deck is very comfortable with a camera table and rinse tanks making this a great boat for photographers. Food is plentiful and a great mix of Thai and international dishes are served buffet style on the shaded main deck.

There certainly are some exceptional dive sites around the Similan Islands but mostly day trips won't cover them from Phuket. There are certain times of year and days of the week when a trip can be very much worth so we'll cover that later. It's a long journey.. We'll use the most popular Phuket beach resort as our e [...]

Mimic octopus (thaumoctopus mimicus) are a relatively new species to science, only classified in 1998 from Indonesian specimens. The potential range could be huge because of the habitat they choose to hunt in. Featureless sandy/muddy flats is generally where you can find mimic octopus, not the first choice for most di [...]
