MV Dolphin Queen

MV Dolphin Queen

7 Days/6 Nights From THB 46,000

The Most Economic liveaboard Option To Dive The Fabulous Mergui Archipelago In Myanmar

The MV Dolphin Queen is a 3 decked wooden mono hulled boat that runs a few trips every liveaboard season to the remote and exciting diving in Myanmar. The well oiled crew have been doing this for a long time and make this special trip and all it’s logistics run like clockwork.

22 guests are comfortably accommodated in a mix of air-conditioned cabins to suite all budgets. The main deck has 2 double bed, 1 twin and 3 quad share cabins. The twin and quad have separator curtains to give guests a little privacy. The upper deck has two double sea view cabins that have outward facing doors so you can switch off the air-con to enjoy the cool sea breeze at night and enjoy the spectacular sunsets.

Food is particularly good and always gets a positive mention from guests. The European style breakfast is made to order and the rest of the delicious Thai meals are served buffet style in the outside dining area. A free flow of coffee, tea, toast, water, electrolyte drinks and fresh fruit are always available. All food is cooked fresh onboard so if you have any special dietary requirements or are worried about demonic Thai chillies then don’t worry just have a word with the cook.

Wetsuits, fins and mask are included in the trip price so you can leave them at home if you prefer.

simple tips to reduce scuba diving air consumption Scuba Diving For Beginners

Improving My Scuba Diving Air Consumption

Let's first start by saying that it's not a competition. Having good air consumption doesn't necessarily make you a better diver. If you're ending the dive 20 or 30 bar behind your buddy but still reaching your planned bottom time then it's nothing to worry about and could simply be physiological differences that are extremely difficult to overcome. Having said that we do have numerous instructors around Phuket that can only be described as ' [...]

lionfish in phuket Rare & Peculiar Critters

Lionfish – A Smart Fish?

We call them lionfish on this side of the world but they're also none as firefish, zebrafish, butterfly cod and turkeyfish (????) in other areas. We tend to lump them together but there are quite a few different species that we find around Phuket. All have stunning warning colours, are very photogenic, show little or no fear of divers and have toxic fins that can pack quite a punch. Fortunately lionfish are easy to spot and stings are very ra [...]

avoiding seasickness Scuba Diving Health

How Do I Avoid Seasickness?

Fortunately throughout the Phuket diving high season we're blessed with generally flat seas. Around the beginning of May we start to get a swell come in from the open ocean. Although for most this has little impact on your dive day, for those who get seasick it can be horrible but there are ways to avoid it. Not going to go too far into the science but essentially your brain is being confused. With intentional movement (walking, runnin [...]
