MV Dolphin Queen

MV Dolphin Queen

3 Days/3 Nights From THB 19,400

The amount of returning divers is a great testament to this well organised Similan Island liveaboard

The MV Dolphin Queen is a very popular 3 decked wooden mono hulled boat that visits all the best dive sites in the Similan and Surin Island National Parks. She has a sundeck, a top deck with dining area and a main deck that has the spacious kitting up area and dive deck.

22 guests are comfortably accommodated in a mix of air-conditioned cabins to suite all budgets. The main deck has 2 double bed, 1 twin and 3 quad share cabins. The twin and quad have separator curtains to give guests a little privacy. The upper deck has two double sea view cabins that have outward facing doors so you can switch off the air-con and enjoy the cool sea breeze at night.

Food is particularly good and always gets a positive mention from guests. The European style breakfast is made to order and the rest of the delicious Thai meals are served buffet style in the outside dining area. A free flow of coffee, tea, toast, water, electrolyte drinks and fresh fruit are always available. All food is cooked fresh onboard so if you have any special dietary requirements or are worried about demonic Thai chillies then don’t worry just have a word with the cook.

Wetsuits, fins and mask are included in the trip price so you can leave them at home if you prefer.

All in all a great little liveaboard with a very experienced crew and management.

Aqualung i450T Dive Computer

Having used the same computer brand for nearly 20 years, it was hard to jump ship from something that had only occasionally let me down. Especially to a brand that is although well trusted in the other diving equipment would be their first foray into the dive computer market. So enticed by a great deal and free in house quick and efficient repairs I decided to take a chance. The Aqualung i450T certainly looks the part, a sleek design a [...]

Sea Turtles In Phuket

Turtles are endearing creatures and we're lucky enough to find plenty around Phuket. Their slow movements, tolerance for divers and wisened features make them a firm favourite with divers all over the world. We mostly get hawksbill turtles around Phuket but we also get green, loggerhead, olive ridley and the biggest of all the seven species - the giant leatherback. Unfortunately all are endangered thanks to us... Plastic pollution, destructio [...]

Single Use Plastics Banned In Thai National Parks

From yesterday (06th April 2022) the Thai National Parks office has banned the use of single us plastics and styrofoam products in all National Parks. This includes marine parks so this may affect you on our Phi Phi day trip and Similan Island liveaboards. Although most of the plastics we find on the dive sites are not jettisoned from boats, it's still a welcome move. As a dive community, Phuket has long practised good environmental [...]
