MV Similan Explorer

MV Similan Explorer

3 Days/3 Nights From THB 16,100

3 Or 5 Night Similan & Surin Island Liveaboard With Great Service At A terrific price

The MV Similan Explorer runs a combination of short 3 Day/3 Night and longer 5 Day/5 Night Similan & Surin Island liveaboard safaris. So if you’re short on time or have too much then this could be a great option for you. This experienced operator has been successfully running two vessels for a very long time, their longevity and high amount of returning guests is a testament to their great service and rock solid organisation.

The layout is almost identical to her sister ship MV Dolphin Queen. The only significant difference is the cabin configuration, there are 4 twin cabins, 2 quad cabins and 2 double bed cabins that comfortably accommodate a maximum of 20 guests. The double cabins are on the upper deck and the rest on the main deck. All cabins are air-conditioned, have a sea view window that opens and 220v plug sockets, so you can charge your battery packs or your lights.

Just like her sister ship the food is excellent and always gets a positive mention from guests. The European style breakfast is made to order and the rest of the delicious Thai meals are served buffet style in the outside dining area. A free flow of coffee, tea, toast, water, electrolyte drinks and fresh fruit are always available. All food is cooked fresh onboard so if you have any special dietary requirements or are worried about demonic Thai chillies then don’t worry just have a word with the cook.

Wetsuits, fins and mask are included in the trip price so you can leave them at home if you prefer.

All in all a great little liveaboard with a very experienced crew and management.

Andaman Tritan Liveaboard Moored Up At The SImilan Islands In Thailand

Andaman Tritan

MV Andaman Tritan was totally refurbished in 2014 making and an already safe and comfortable vessel even more diver friendly. She may not be the largest liveaboard in Thailand but with only 16 divers onboard you never feel like you’re in a crowd. There’s plenty of space in the outside dining area and the comfortable air-conditioned saloon has plenty of media devices and a library to keep you entertained. On the very top of the boat the [...]

Racha Noi – Banana Bay South

For many students this will be part of your first Phuket diving experience. This clear shallow bay is often devoid of current making it an ideal dive site for first timers and more experienced divers who haven't got wet for a while. That's not to say it's a bad dive site, just a very safe one. The dive will begin near the very beautiful coral gardens at around 4-5 meters. Many species of jewel like damselfish, butterfly fish and quite ofte [...]

avoiding seasickness Scuba Diving Health

How Do I Avoid Seasickness?

Fortunately throughout the Phuket diving high season we're blessed with generally flat seas but around the beginning of May we start to get a swell come in from the open ocean. Although for most this has little impact on your dive day, for those who get seasick it can be horrible but there are ways to avoid it. Not going to go too far into the science but essentially you're brain is being confused. With intentional movement (walking, r [...]

Phi Phi Islands National Park Fee And New Diving Rules

A couple of years back the entry fee for the Phi Phi Island Marine National Park jumped to THB 400 for all tourists and an extra THB 200 for divers. After months of collecting the fee from our diving guests in the morning and then returning it back in the afternoon we finally gave up. No National Park officers came to collect the fees but the Thai government has announced that they will begin strictly enforcing the fee collection from 17th Ju [...]

Phuket Diving In Low Season Amazing Local Dives

Phuket Diving In Low Season

Phuket diving is fortunate enough to have an almost year round season - almost... Low season can produce the odd uncomfortable day but generally weather is pretty good in the day time with the wetter conditions coming in the evening but lets be honest as long as you can get in the water then it has to be a good day. Most days between May and October are hot and sunny just like the rest of the year and you have the added bonus of fewer [...]
