Somboon 4

Somboon 4

1 Night/2 Days From THB 13,900

The Most flexible liveaboards in the Similan Islands

The sister boats Somboon 3 & 4 are the most flexible boats we have to offer. They both run scheduled 3 Day/ 2 Night trips to Richelieu Rock. In between they stay around the Similan Islands National Park. Neither boat comes back to port until the end of the season and transfers are made via speedboat from Khao lak. This allows divers to stay for just 1 Night/2 Days if you’re on a tight schedule or even just a two dive day trip.

Both boats are large and well maintained. They can have a large number of divers for the middle two dives of the day especially in the peak holiday periods around Xmas and New Year. The late afternoon and early morning dives are much less crowded. Only overnight guests (max 28) can join these dives.

The eating area is huge to allow for the extra day trip guests and there is a small air-conditioned saloon on both boats. None of the cabins are en-suite but all have individually controlled air-conditioning and sea views.

If you’re on a limited budget and a tight schedule, then Somboon 4 could be a great option for you.

the king cruiser wreck in phuket

The King Cruiser Wreck Dive

The King Cruiser Wreck's unplanned underwater life began in May 1997. The adventurous captain of the King Cruiser car ferry strayed miles off course on his way to Phi Phi from Phuket. With an incredible feat of marine navigation he 'found' the only submerged reef for miles around. Unfortunately the intrepid captain's wanderlust resulted in a large hole in the ferry and the inevitable consequences. So was created Phuket's first wreck dive. For [...]

Octopus Are a Common Sighting In Phuket Diving Rare & Peculiar Critters

How Does An Octopus Change Colour?

Dazzling colour changes and perfect camouflage make octopus a favourite with everybody diving in Phuket but how do they perform this magic trick, well it's not mirrors, sorcery or witchcraft it's a complex combination of muscle, nerves, brain and skin pigments. By far the most common octopus we see when diving in Phuket is the day octopus (octopus cyanea) so we'll base our facts around this very convenient creature (we don't do night dives). [...]

What Is A Phuket Liveaboard Safari?

The best diving in Phuket and Thailand for that matter is inside the Similan and Surin Island National Parks. The most efficient and cost effective way to dive these fantastic locations is on-board one of the many liveaboard safari boats that run trips from mid October to May. It's essentially a floating hotel that supplies everything you need for the trip. Once you step on-board the first evening of the trip apart from a couple of beach [...]
