Deep Andaman Queen Overhaul

If you’ve joined Deep Andaman Queen before then it’s very unlikely that you’ll recognise her in the 2019/2020 season. Not only are the cabins, saloon and eating areas getting a makeover but the whole front section has been removed. It will be replaced with a completely different design making Deep Andaman Queen almost unrecognisable. Our Phuket scuba day tour boat is currently undergoing annual maintenance in the shipyard and we can see the new bow section on deep Andaman Queen being fitted.

It’s nowhere near complete but below is an artists impression of what the finished makeover is supposed to look like like.

Why Book With Us?

There’s plenty of big scuba diving liveaboard agents on the web. They’re generally sat in an office thousands of miles away from where the actual boat is. We’re here in Phuket and know the owners and staff of all these boats on a personal level. We have all the inside information, been on every one of the boats and know the diving like the back of our hand. Our knowledge will let us find you the best option for your Thailand adventure. If you encounter any problems when you’re in Thailand then we’re on hand to help you out 24hrs a day!

Honeycomb Moray At The Boonsung Wreck

Boonsung Wreck – Khao Lak

The Boonsung wreck was formerly one of many vessels that were used in Thailand's former booming tin mining trade. Allegedly it sank due to a faulty toilet and came to rest on the sandy bottom at 18m. It's located just outside the port at Tablamu near Khao Lak. Originally it was a hazard to shipping and the Thai navy dropped a couple of bombs to level it out a bit. Add that to the damage created by the 2004 tsunami and we're left with somethin [...]

PADI Underwater Navigator

Diving in Phuket is slightly unique, by law you have to dive with a local guide but that's certainly not the case with many places in the world. You may be given a dive briefing and then left to your own devices or you may want to explore your local dive sites after having the initial orientation from a PADI pro. This is where PADI Underwater Navigator Specialty becomes an absolute must. If you're the kind of diver who keeps a vice like gr [...]

Phuket Diving In Low Season

Phuket diving is fortunate enough to have an almost year round season - almost... Low season can produce the odd uncomfortable day but generally weather is pretty good in the day time with the wetter conditions coming in the evening but lets be honest as long as you can get in the water then it has to be a good day. Most days between May and October are hot and sunny just like the rest of the year and you have the added bonus of fewer [...]

Devil In Disguise – The Most Toxic Sea urchin

The most toxic sea urchin is not the fire urchin as you might think. That would make sense, a name that would stop anybody with a functional brain from touching it. So what have scientists named the most toxic urchin? They've gone for flower urchin - thanks. There's ample space for another more suitable word. Hell, agony or stinging flower urchin would have all given us a hint to stay well away. The scientists have certainly looked aft [...]
