The Phinisi In The South Andaman

The Phinisi In The South Andaman

4 Days/4 Nights From US$ 1,000

The Phinisi Heads to the South Andaman From May to June

The Phinisi takes a short hiatus to the Southern Andaman in the green season. Some excellent diving can be found around the Phi Phi islands and Koh Haa. You will need a small slice of luck with the weather but it’s rarely so bad that the trip can’t go out. All of the dive sites offer protection from any inclement weather.

Usually this fantastic boat can be found cruising the Similan and Surin Islands but for a brief period from mid May until the end of June you will find the Phinisi in the Southern Andaman

18 very lucky guests are comfortably accommodated in a range of cabins to suit different budgets. Two Quad cabins, two twin cabins and 3 cabins that can be used as either twin or double bed configuration. Every cabin has en-suite bathrooms, air conditioning, towels, storage space, overhead reading lights and a safe.

Large and comfortable social areas including an air conditioned saloon where you can choose a book from the extensive library or watch a movie. The spacious sundeck on the Phinisi is a great spot to watch the South Andaman sunsets.

Built By Divers For Divers

The covered diving deck on the Phinisi has generous individual set up areas which include a personal storage area. Entry to the water is via well designed dinghies. Rental equipment is high quality Aqualung, SMB’s are offered free of charge and nitrox is available to rent (recommended).

Excellent and plentiful food is served buffet style and eaten either in the shaded dining area or inside the comfortable saloon. You certainly won’t go hungry but neither will you lose any weight on a Phinisi trip to the South Andaman

Mimic Octopus In Phuket

Finding mimic octopus in Phuket is not a new thing for local divers but it may come as a bit of a surprise to holiday makers. Mimic octopus (thaumoctopus mimicus) are a relatively new species to science, only classified in 1998 from Indonesian specimens. The potential range could be huge because of the habitat they choose to hunt in. Featureless sandy/muddy flats is generally where you can find mimic octopus, not the first choice for most di [...]

Thailand Suspends Export of Seahorses

CITES has announced the Thai governments decision to suspend the export of seahorses after not being able to meet the CITES obligations for the trade in seahorses, Thailand decided to stop issuing export permits earlier this year in lieu of obtaining a sustainable solution and protecting the wild population. It's a welcome move and hopefully a chance for one of diving's most loved animals to increase in numbers. Thailand is the worlds largest [...]

Nitrox Tanks Ready To Use The Archives

Why Do Scuba Divers Use Nitrox?

Nitrox or Enriched Air Nitrox to give it's full name is the most popular PADI speciality course that we teach and for good reason. It's relatively cheap, can be done in one day, straight forward and really is beneficial to the diver. Excessive absorption of nitrogen into our body tissues is the factor that limits a divers time underwater. So by simply putting more oxygen into our scuba tank, therefor reducing the amount of nitrogen we [...]
