PADI Rescue Diver Course

PADI Rescue Diver Course

Learn how to prevent emergencies & become the diver that others rely on with the PADI Rescue Diver course

The PADI Rescue diver course is one of the most challenging & rewarding of PADI certification courses you can do. The PADI Rescue diver course improves your skills and confidence as a diver & is designed for anyone who wants to learn how to identify, manage & prevent diver or scuba diving emergencies, this course is slightly more demanding than the OW, or AOW as you might possibly have to rescue multiple people while still in the water and potentially out of it, but it is also a lot of fun because your instructor can develop rescue scenarios that will challenge and engage your level of awareness, water skills and general fitness. The course also teaches you to have more awareness of other divers and the problems that can occur; you will learn how to recognise and control potential danger before it can become an emergency and manage scenarios such as diver stress, panicked swimmers or an unconscious diver.

The Rescue diver course is often quoted as being one the best scuba diving courses a diver can complete, with the simulated rescue scenarios concentrating on serious subjects whilst having fun and making you a much more visibly aware diver and source of knowledge for those with lower levels of training.

Course Options & Pricing

There are two main options with the Rescue Diver course depending on your current level of first aid training. If you have a valid first aid qualification or training certificate the PADI Rescue diver course can be done over two days. If you do not have a first aid certification you will need to also complete a PADI Emergency First Response course before you become a certified Rescue Diver.

The very important theory for the PADI Rescue Diver course is quite intensive. Free up some time and concentrate on your in-water skills by completing all the theory at home. For an additional THB 1,000 you can have all your theory complete and skip the classroom section completely when on your Phuket holiday.

Racha Noi – South Tip

Quite honestly we wish we could get here every trip but the converging currents from either side of Racha Noi make the South Tip a challenging dive even on weak tides. Only once or twice a month the current is low enough for us to get there but it's a real treat when we can, even the guides are queuing up for this trip! The dive site consists of a series of huge granite boulders that have been washed smooth by the strong currents, corals have a hard time establishing colonies in these conditions so you won't find too much here apart from in a few sheltered areas but that's not really what we come here for.... The site is the only manta cleaning station for miles around so any giant ma [...]

Phuket Diving Critters Amazing Local Dives

Phuket Critter Diving – Great At The Moment

Diving in Phuket is not renowned for critters but we do get our fair share of small animals, it's just that they're a little harder to find. It's hard to beat our dive guides for local knowledge, they're out everyday looking in every crack and crevice trying to find those special animals for you. Recently there's been lots of cool critters spotted on lots of dive sites. We have ornate ghost pipefish at Shark Point, Racha Noi and Racha Yai, harlequin shrimp and tigertail seahorses at Shark Point, giant frogfish at Racha Noi and freckled frogfish at Racha Yai. Our favourite critter dive site - Koh Doc Mai is being slightly over shadowed although it's always home to many different specie [...]

Thailand Suspends Export of Seahorses

CITES has announced the Thai governments decision to suspend the export of seahorses after not being able to meet the CITES obligations for the trade in seahorses, Thailand decided to stop issuing export permits earlier this year in lieu of obtaining a sustainable solution and protecting the wild population. It's a welcome move and hopefully a chance for one of diving's most loved animals to increase in numbers. Thailand is the worlds largest exporter of seahorses mostly for the (yeah, you've guessed it) Chinese traditional medicine market. 150 Million a year! That's a conservative estimate based on legal export figures, the actual figure is probably much higher. Thailand is respon [...]
