Thailand Liveaboard SY Diva Andaman

SY Diva Andaman

This oppulent sailing yacht offers a very different experience from the other liveaboards cruising Myanmar and the Mergui Archipelago. Champagne, bathrobes, table service and great cabins give the feel of floating boutique hotel. You half expect a butler offering refreshments to appear during the dives... Two onboard wine cellars, an excellent chef (not to be confused with a cook) serving gourmet food and even bathrobes set the tone for this luxurious cruise. The seven wonderfully appointed wood paneled cabins are more like hotel rooms and feature air-conditioning, en-suite bathrooms, a safe, flat screen TV and a fridge to keep the champagne chilled. There are two twin cabins and f [...]

Take A Break From Diving and Go to Wat Chalong Temple Phuket Phuket Sights & Fun

Wat Chalong

Wat Chalong is the most important and the most beautiful Buddhist temple of the 29 or so located in Phuket. Just a stones throw from our office this stunning landmark is one of the most popular tourist attractions on the island. The temple is dedicated to an eminent monk who is believed to have assisted the citizens of Phuket overcome a Chinese tin workers rebellion in 1876. Of course being a monk he didn't fight himself but Luang Pho Cham's advice and medical assistance to the injured was believed to be key in ending the conflict quickly with very limited loss of life. Statues of Luang Pho Cham and two other temple abbots with legendary healing knowledge are prominent features of the [...]

Phuket Diving Site - Shark Point Amazing Local Dives

A Different Look For Mondays

Local Dive Thailand now runs a day trip to Shark Point, Anemone Reef and Koh Doc Mai every Monday. These three great dive sites are regular features on the diving trips in Phuket but rarely all on the same day and Anemone Reef is often skipped in favour of the more popular Shark Point. So we've had a little change to our schedule to make sure all certified divers have a chance of visiting this trio of great dive sites. The only opportunity to visit at least two of these outstanding dive sites in one day was as part of the King Cruiser day trip but this means that divers only qualified to dive 18m had to skip one dive or as is more often the case not join the trip at all. So taking [...]

Similan Island Liveaboard MV Pawara Amazing Local Dives

Similan Island Liveaboard MV Pawara Songkran Trip Review

Liveaboards in the stunning Similan Islands National Park are rarely disappointing, especially on a great boat like MV Pawara. Occasionally bad weather or poor visibility can be a bit of a pain but fingers and any other available appendages were firmly crossed to ward off any bad luck. That appeared to be a waste of energy as rain greeted us on arrival to the boat... The pick ups from all over Phuket Island went smoothly and everybody had arrived by 8pm. Snacks and hot and cold drinks were immediately available for the weary travellers, some had come directly from the airport. All passengers were quickly allocated cabins and a boat and safety briefing was given in the saloon by the [...]
