PADI Open Water Referral

PADI Open Water Referral

Maximise Your Time With The PADI Open Water Referral On Your Phuket Scuba Diving Holiday

PADI is truly a global organisation and the Open Water Referral system allows you to spend your precious holiday time diving on our beautiful Phuket scuba diving sites. Team up with your local PADI dive centre and then join us for the real fun.

How Does It Work?

Anything that you complete through a PADI dive centre or resort is recognised globally by any PADI dive centre. If you where to complete all your theory and pool work back in your home countries then you simply have to finish your course with four open water training dives in Phuket to complete your Open Water Diver certification.

Why Take This Option?

Our PADI instructors try to make the classroom side of the course as fun and engaging as possible but who really wants to be stuck inside when you have clear blue skies outside? By completing the theory and pool sessions in your home country it means you join us straight for the real fun part – the open water dives.

You’ll free up and extra day on your holiday, the referral only takes two days. The pools are probably heated and indoor back home so you won’t have an uncomfortable experience but the open ocean maybe won’t be as warm (30c!) or as clear as Phuket.

The Easiet Way

To stop any confusion with certification fees the best option is to register for PADI elearning either through the PADI website or through a PADI dive centre. The PADI elearning is transferable to any dive centre so it can be processed anywhere.

If you prefer the hands on instructor approach then enrolling in theory sessions with your local dive centre is easy enough but you’ll usually have to follow a schedule which may not be 100% convenient for you.

What You Need To Bring

You’ll need to bring the student record file that your dive centre gave you and make sure your instructor has signed for completion on all your pool/theory sessions. If you completed theory via elearning then you can print out the completion email but we’d rather you show us here or let us check online through the PADI system (saves paper).

There is a one year validity on all that you’ve completed so make sure you’ve got your timing right or you may have to repeat it all again…

So what are you waiting for? Get started at your local dive centre and then come and join us to finish this awesome experience!

Chevron Barracuda At West of Eden

West Of Eden

After the coral bleaching in 2010 that devastated the wonderful East Of Eden this rocky dive site became more popular. Most sites on the western side of the Similan Islands are comprised of granite boulders and hard corals which are a little more resilient to temperature change. Depending on the current the dive will begin around the mooring line in the small bay to the south of the dive site. It's worth spending some time in this area, lo [...]

Weefine Ring Light 3000 Review & Samples

The original Weefine Ringlight was a simple affair, more of a good idea rather than a good product but the upgrades on the latest version have made it a very useful tool indeed. Brightness has been beefed up and strobe, red light and UV light features all make it a great addition to the macro photographers armoury. Along with the ring light itself you'll find a couple of spare o rings a battery charger and a rechargeable 26650 battery. [...]

A Great Days Diving At Phi Phi And Shark Point

Grey skies and a humid atmosphere greeted us as we boarded our dive boat in Chalong but thankfully there was no wind or waves on the way to Phi Phi and a comfortable journey ensued with the hope of better conditions under the waves than we had above. We weren't to be disappointed, visibility in the bay at Koh Bida Nok was excellent and a quick swim up into the shallows brought a brief glimpse of a couple of blacktip reef sharks cruising ar [...]
