Racha Yai & Racha Noi – Dive Tours

Racha Yai & Racha Noi – Dive Tours

Clear Water, Wrecks & Macro, What To Expect From a Racha Noi & Racha Yai Dive Tour

Racha Noi is the only Phuket dive site where we regularly see oceanic manta rays. A cleaning station at the south tip regularly brings these amazing giants of the sea to visit us in the shallow waters of the many bays and dive sites the island supports. Racha Noi is also extremely diverse, with area’s of breathtaking coral growth and deeper places with hidden secrets among the massive granite boulders! Adding to this, Phuket is not exactly known for wreck or macro diving but if you happen to be on this dive tour you might change your mind, as one of our regularly visited dive sites at Racha Yai actually has 5 wrecks as well as a massive artificial reef of concrete cubes and other sunken treasures, these wrecks and artificial reef structures attract a large amount of fish and distinctly rare & unique macro life.

The Perfect Dive Tour For Beginners And Experienced Divers Alike

Racha Yai and Racha Noi are also amazing sites for training and diving courses, almost every dive site is a mix of deep and shallow sandy bottoms, corals, boulders and more. Advanced divers can see all of these things in a single dive, as well as marine life like Jenkins Whip Rays & Stone Fish, Giant Brown Marble Groupers and again don’t forget Manta’s. If you have not dived Racha Yai and Racha Noi then you are missing out on some of Phuket’s top diving spots.

Racha Yai, Noi Dive Tour Schedule

Racha Noi, Racha Yai diving tours are suitable for all levels of certified divers and are highly recommended for Discover Scuba Divers, Scuba Reviews and other training dives, the dive sites here on these islands offer protected bays with clear water, sandy bottoms and very little current.

Racha Yai, Noi Tour Itinerary

The Racha Yai & Racha Noi dive tour, usually see us doing the first two dives at Racha Noi, with the final dive of the day at Racha Yai. We do this for a couple of reasons, firstly Racaha Noi provides both deep and shallow diving, allowing advanced and beginner divers on the same dive tour, this way we get the deep & training dives done first, then onto Racha Yai which has some amazing artificial reef structures and relatively shallow wreck diving at around 24 meters.

Honeycomb Moray At The Boonsung Wreck

Boonsung Wreck – Khao Lak

The Boonsung wreck was formerly one of many vessels that were used in Thailand's former booming tin mining trade. Allegedly it sank due to a faulty toilet and came to rest on the sandy bottom at 18m. It's located just outside the port at Tablamu near Khao Lak. Originally it was a hazard to shipping and the Thai navy dropped a couple of bombs to level it out a bit. Add that to the damage created by the 2004 tsunami and we're left with somethin [...]

Fun Diving Phuket With Local Dive Thailand

Phuket diving is always fun, we are simply referring to any dive that is not a training or certification dive. So a certified PADI Open Water diver who books a Phi Phi Island day trip tour with Local Dive Thailand, is a fun diver and on one of our day trip diving tours can do up to 3 fun dives that day so in this case it would be 2 at Phi Phi and one on the return journey home at Shark Point or Anemone Reef, depending on conditions. So if [...]

staying hydrated when scuba diving Scuba Diving Health

Dehydration And Scuba Diving

We as any good dive boat should provide water free of charge on our day trip tours but even though it's free when we calculate the guest to water consumption ratio we find you're coming up well short on what you should be drinking. This has to change. Dehydration in scuba diving can make you more susceptible to decompression sickness. It's not the most common cause but staying hydrated is good practice for diving health. Roughly 2L per per [...]

Cape Panwa Phuket – A Hidden Gem

Cape Panwa is a spit of land in the south of Phuket. If escaping the crowds is the goal on your Phuket holiday then it could be just the place for you. You're not going to get the riotous excitement of Patong or even the low key nightlife in Karon or Kata. What you will get is stunning scenery away from the hustle and noise of the other Phuket beach resorts. Not much but that's why you would stay there. Small scenic beaches, quaint res [...]

how to treat jellyfish and coral stings Scuba Diving Health

How to Treat Jellyfish And Coral Stings

Jellyfish and coral stings are not a frequent occurrence in Phuket. The few cases we get are mild, only requiring some basic first aid immediately after the incident. Occasionally around the coast line, we sight box jellyfish and in low season we often have bluebottles wash up on the shore. However it's incredibly rare to see either around our main Phuket dive sites. Still, the environment we choose to spend our spare time in is not risk free [...]
