MV Explorer

MV Explorer

MV Explorer Is a Great Choice For Your Similan Island Adventure

MV Explorer got a complete makeover in 2023. The 26m long vessel has three spacious decks but only has a capacity of 16 guests!

Most of the guests will stay in the 6 x 2 berth cabins on the lower deck where you will also find the dive deck. The middle deck has 2 x double cabins with windows for a sea view. The main common area and dining area also on the middle deck is open sided to take advantage of the cool sea breeze.

The upper or sun deck has both shaded and full sun options. A very popular place for guests to hang out between dives, you can crash out on a bean bag, mattress or gently sway in one of the hammocks.

Don’t worry if you’re not a sun lover, ample shaded space is readily available. Hammocks, bean bags, sun mattresses or just simple cushioned benches around tables let you relax the way you want.

The experienced team of 6 boat crew and 4 guides will ensure the best possible cruise. They will for sure show you the best that the Similan and Surin Islands have to offer

The food is fantastic! A western style breakfast consisting of eggs, bacon, potatoes, mushrooms and tomatoes served with fresh bread, jams and fruit will be served after the first dive of the day.

After the second and fourth dives, the lunch and dinner comprising of delicious Thai curries, soups, fresh veg and usually fresh fish will make sure you get enough fuel for the fantastic dives.

MV Explorer cabins are all air-conditioned and come in two configurations. Six ensuite double/twin cabins and two standard double cabins. All have windows so everyone has a view.

Safety Features

MV Explorer has very high safety standards so everything you might require incase of emergency is provided. Life Rafts, GPS, VHF radio, smoke detectors, fire extinguishers, 100% oxygen, first aid kit, lifejackets, and a dinghy. All dive staff are emergency first aid trained so there’s plenty of help readily available.

banana bay at racha noi island phuket

Racha Noi Banana Bay South

For many students Racha Noi Banana bay will be part of your first Phuket diving experience. The clear shallow bay is often devoid of current. Making it an ideal dive site for first timers and more experienced divers who haven't got wet for a while. That's not to say it's a bad dive site, just a very safe one. The dive will begin near the very beautiful coral gardens at around 4-5 meters. Many species of jewel like damselfish, butterfly fis [...]

Fun Diving Phuket With Local Dive Thailand

Diving in Phuket is always fun, we are simply referring to any dive that is not a training dive although they're mostly fun too! So a certified PADI Open Water diver who books a Phi Phi Island day trip tour with Local Dive Thailand is a fun diver. On one of our day trip diving tours you can do up to 3 fun dives that day so in this case it would be two at Phi Phi and one on the journey home at Shark Point. Although we're a PADI 5* dive cent [...]

Diving From Liveaboards Banned In The Similan Islands

If you're not a fan of diving from dinghies then we have some bad news for you. Diving directly from your liveaboards has now been banned. It's a move that is supposed to protect corals and marine life, personally I've never seen a liveaboard in the Similan Islands National Park go near a reef. Liveaboards will have to keep their distance from the dive site or use official mooring lines. The other reason touted is safety. A diver unfortuna [...]

Cape Panwa is a spit of land in the south of Phuket. If escaping the crowds is the goal on your Phuket holiday then it could be just the place for you.
