Manta Queen 3

Manta Queen 3

4 Days/4 Nights From THB 21,500 Including Equipment

A Big Similan Island Liveaboard At a Small price

Manta Queen 3 cuts an imposing figure on the Similan Island liveaboard scene. This very large vessel was launched in 2011 and comfortably accommodates 31 divers. Her generous proportions offer a very stable cruise and plenty of space to relax between dives.

The unusually high number of air-conditioned cabin configurations ensures everyone can find something to suit their needs: Master 2 person en-suite cabin, Family Master en-suite 4 person cabin Twin bed en-suite cabins, Double bed en-suite cabins, Twin bed non en-suite cabins, 3 bed shared cabins and 4 bed shared cabins.

The common areas are spacious and have some nice touches, the hammocks on the sundeck are a favourite with sun worshipers and the large wood paneled saloon is a great place to chill out away from the heat.

MV Similan Explorer

The MV Similan Explorer runs a combination of short 3 Day/3 Night and longer 5 Day/5 Night Similan & Surin Island liveaboard safaris. So if you're short on time or have too much then this could be a great option for you. This experienced operator has been successfully running two vessels for a very long time, their longevity and high amount of returning guests is a testament to their great service and rock solid organisation. The layout is almost identical to her sister ship MV Dolphin Queen. The only significant difference is the cabin configuration, there are 4 twin cabins, 2 quad cabins and 2 double bed cabins that comfortably accommodate a maximum of 20 guests. Enriched Air Nitrox Tanks Ready to go Diving In Phuket

PADI Enriched Air Nitrox

Enriched Air is by far the most popular PADI specialty course conducted in Phuket. Diving with nitrox gives you much more no decompression time than diving with normal air. In dive locations such as Phuket where we do 3 dives a day with 1hr surface intervals it's a particular useful skill to have. The Similan Island liveaboards can schedule up to 4 dives a day so we would absolutely recommend being nitrox certified before or during your trip. It's a straight forward course and now adapted to reflect modern diving with computers. The theory will only take a few hours of your holiday time and can even be conducted in full on a single dive tour. Once you've analysed your tank and lo [...]

Underwater Photography Getting Started Photo Tips & Tricks

Underwater Photography: Getting Started

Many do but buying and underwater digital camera shouldn't be your first equipment purchase. Be safe and confident with your diving skills before you add extra stress and a massive distraction. Getting good results with modern digital cameras is fairly straight forward if you get the basics right and by the basics I mean the diving. You wouldn't expect great photo results if you're running around or jumping up and down on land, the same applies for diving - if you're furiously kicking to hold position or rising up and down then it's almost impossible to get the subject in focus. You're very rarely going to be the finished article after you've completed the Open Water, sure you'l [...]
