Manta Queen 1

Manta Queen 1

4 Days/4 Nights From THB 19,500 Including Equipment

Similan Islands Diving at a Great Price

The Manta Queen 1 runs 4 Day/4 Night trips to Similan Islands, Koh Bon, Koh Tachai and Richelieu Rock. The large common areas make this one of the most sociable and fun liveaboards in Thailand.
The 22 guests are accommodated in compact but comfortable air-conditioned cabins which come in twin, double and quad share configurations, something for everyone.

The plentiful and tasty food is cooked fresh in the onboard kitchen and served buffet style on the outside shaded dining area, fresh fruit and snacks are available after every dive. If you’ve eaten too much (a common occurrence) then the dinghy can take you over to one of the many beautiful beaches for a quick stroll.

Another efficient and exceptionally good value trip from the Manta Queen fleet.

Phuket Diving Site Elephant Head Rock

Elephant Head Rock

Elephant Head Rock is a large rocky pinnacle that nestles between Similan Islands seven and eight. The strong current that runs between the two islands has washed the granite boulders on Elephant Head Rock smooth and created lots of really nice swim-throughs. Although strong currents are frequently prevalent the large size of the pinnacle ensures there is always a sheltered and safe area to dive and is often the first dive of the day to allow divers to explore the deeper areas of the site and catch the whitetip reef sharks cruising around on the southeast corner. If you do miss them on the first part of the dive then there's always a chance to see one resting in the many cracks and cave [...]

Nitrox Tanks Ready To Use The Archives

Why Do Scuba Divers Use Nitrox?

Nitrox or Enriched Air Nitrox to give it's full name is the most popular PADI speciality course that we teach and for good reason. It's relatively cheap, can be done in one day, straight forward and really is beneficial to the diver. Excessive absorption of nitrogen into our body tissues is the factor that limits a divers time underwater. So by simply putting more oxygen into our scuba tank, therefor reducing the amount of nitrogen we in turn reduce the amount that our body absorbs. Which will extend our diving time at given depths. Got it? There is of course much more to learn about diving with Nitrox and that's why you should take the Read The Full Story

Octopus Are a Common Sighting In Phuket Diving Rare & Peculiar Critters

How Does An Octopus Change Colour?

Dazzling colour changes and perfect camouflage make octopus a favourite with everybody diving in Phuket but how do they perform this magic trick, well it's not mirrors, sorcery or witchcraft it's a complex combination of muscle, nerves, brain and skin pigments. By far the most common octopus we see when diving in Phuket is the day octopus (octopus cyanea) so we'll base our facts around this very convenient creature (we don't do night dives). That's what the cells are called, octopus have thousands of different colour chromataphores to every square inch of skin. Think of them as tiny balloons filled with coloured ink. The 'ink balloons' on most octopus come in black, brown, red, or [...]

Phuket Health Spa Underwater Rare & Peculiar Critters

Phuket’s Underwater Health Spa’s

Every Phuket diving site has one of these blissful little places where the food chain is put on hold for a little while and everybody just gets along, a Utopia under the waves. Most divers will swim over them completely unaware that it's the best place on the reef to witness natural behaviour, species interaction, some killer dance moves and even marital disputes. You'd think spending your whole life swimming around in water would negate the necessity for a spruce up but without hands then cleaning your teeth, cleaning wounds, removing parasites or simply exfoliating are all a bit of a challenge to say the least. This is where the legion of little helpers come in. It's a competiti [...]
