PADI Deep Diver Course – Explore More!

take the PADI Deep Diver course And Explore the Hidden Depths of Phuket

The lure of the unknown is what got many of us into scuba diving in the first place. I’m sure like me you glance wistfully into the depths wondering what they’re hiding. There’s always the feeling of excitement and mystery when exploring somewhere that not many others can.

The PADI Deep Diver specialty will extend your current depth limit to 40m/130ft. Allowing you to check out new environments, deep wrecks or maybe just get away from the crowds.

The course comprises of theory and actual dives. Over two days you will complete 4 open water dives*and understand the reasons for deep diving and the importance of realising your personal limits.

What Will I learn On the PADI Deep Diver Course?

The theory and dives will cover specialised deep diving equipment, deep dive planning, buddy contact procedures, buoyancy control, managing your gas supply, dealing with gas narcosis and safety considerations.

Due to the nature of the course and topography of our dive sites, all dives will be completed in the clear waters of Racha Noi/Yai. You will learn on the course that conditions are key for deep diving and these islands are the best and safest location to conduct this informative programme.

You’ll need to be PADI Adventure Diver rating or higher, and at least 15 years old to enrol in the Deep Diver course with Local Dive Thailand.

Cuttlefish – Cross Dressing Light Bending Camouflage Kings

Cuttlefish belong the to the mollusc family and look like something between an octopus and a squid. Unlike most molluscs, the cephalopod branch which includes cuttlefish, squid and octopus are fairly smart. Certainly compared to their simpleton slug cousins but as with all geeks there comes weirdness - lots of weirdness. Let's get the ball rolling with this cardiovascular indulgence. Cuttlefish have three hearts, one each for their two [...]

Improving Your Buoyancy Control

Some divers get diving immediately but not all. Students who are strong swimmers and confident in water tend to find the course easy and a whole lot of fun. This gives the opportunity to experiment and really get hold of buoyancy during the PADI Open Water Course. That's not the case for all new divers. Although you've successfully completed all the skills, had immense fun and opened up a whole new world, you still may not have quite gras [...]

Diving From Liveaboards Banned In The Similan Islands

If you're not a fan of diving from dinghies then we have some bad news for you. Diving directly from your liveaboards has now been banned. It's a move that is supposed to protect corals and marine life, personally I've never seen a liveaboard in the Similan Islands National Park go near a reef. Liveaboards will have to keep their distance from the dive site or use official mooring lines. The other reason touted is safety. A diver unfortuna [...]
