Phuket Seafood & Gastronomy Festival 2020

Try Delicious Phuket Seafood at The 2020 Gastronomy Festival

The upcoming Phuket Seafood and Gastronomy Festival is one such example of how Phuket is trying its very best to stimulate the local tourism market. Over the next five weekends at various locations around the island you’ll get a chance to try fantastic fresh seafood. The venues have been chosen so that you can enjoy seafood and sea view, a challenge for Phuket Old Town..

Not Just Food

As well as delicious prepared dishes, there’ll also be the chance to buy the freshest seafood from the surrounding waters. Decorations will reflect traditional Phuket fisherman’s lifestyle and entertainment will be on show at all venues. Some exhibits will highlight food hygiene and safely preparing seafood. So if you’re a seafood fan, then drop by to pick up some great tips, dishes or ingredients for yourself.

The Phuket Seafood and Gastronomy Fair is mainly aimed at the Thai domestic tourists but it will be a great way to spend the evening for expats. The hope is that the festival will show tourists that Phuket is a safe place to visit and supply some much needed income to local business operators.

I've been enjoying the incredible marine life in our oceans for over 25 years. 13 years ago I became a PADI professional in Phuket, hoping to introduce as many people as possible to the incredible beauty of the seas.

Having been fortunate enough to dive all over south east and especially Thailand, I enjoy sharing my diving experiences and passion on this blog.

Originally from Bristol in the UK, I swapped the frigid waters of the North Atlantic for the warm tropical seas around Thailand and can confidently say that I wouldn't go back

Will Scuba Diving Hurt My Ears?

Will scuba diving hurt my ears? is a question we frequently get asked. Anybody who's tried diving down when snorkeling will have felt the effect of pressure on their ears. So it's natural to assume it will only get worse when going deeper. That assumption would be 100% correct so that's why you're taught simple techniques to prevent pain or damage as part of the PADI Open Water Course. The techniques will quickly become habit and ear issues [...]
